Today, I wanted to dive into something that is close to my heart: the incredible healing potential of sharing personal stories...especially through writing. If you've been keeping up with me here and on TikTok, you may know that I have been on my own journey of self-discovery and self expression through my book, "Go Happy Yourself!!" and most recently the book of prayers I wrote for my sisters "Generations of Grace", which I mentioned on Sunday.

I am currently working on a third book, which I hope to have published by year end. This new book is a deeply personal story about caring for my father during the last seven years of his life. It's a tale that's been heavy on my heart, and I've struggled to put it into words since my dad's passing in 2017. Yet, I believe there's immense therapeutic value in telling our stories, even when they're hard to tell.

For me, writing has always been a refuge, a way to cope with life's ups and downs. I've turned to my journal, especially during times of crisis and transition, to express thoughts and feelings I couldn't bring myself to say out loud. It's like a safe space where the weight of my emotions finds release. My journal is a friend, my trusted confidant. It helps me reconnect with my inner self, reaffirm my goals, and chart a course forward.

I firmly believe that everyone has a story to tell, whether it's about caregiving, personal growth, abuse, or any life experience. Don't underestimate the power of your words. Whether you share them with the world or keep them close, your stories have the potential to heal, inspire, and connect. When we tell our stories, we often underestimate the profound impact they can have on others. A shared story can be a lifeline for someone facing similar challenges, a source of strength, and a reminder that they're not alone. It's a gift we give to the world, a ripple effect of understanding, empathy, and healing.

The idea for my newest book came during my caregiving experience, I searched high and low for a book that would offer both practical advice and a personal connection. I wanted a book to tell me what to do, and to affirm that the emotions I was feeling were valid, normal and did not make me a horrible person...but I could not find such a book. I knew if I was feeling it that others were too, and so I decided to write it myself. It will be a blend of practical wisdom and my heartfelt authentic story, and my hope is that it can serve as a guidebook for those who need it most, and a testament to the power of sharing our struggles.

So, my friends, let's remember that our stories have the power to change lives, to bridge gaps, and to provide solace. Whether it's a story of caregiving, personal growth, or any life experience, don't hold back. Share your journey with the world. Your words may be exactly what someone needs to hear today.

As I continue my journey to finish my book, I hope you find the inspiration to share your own stories, knowing that you have the potential to make a profound difference in someone else's life.
