Do you question what your purpose here on Earth is? I think this is a question that has puzzled us all from time to time. Someone recently asked me this and they said not to think about it - to just say the first thing that came to mind. All I could think of was "Love." It's ironic, because it comes at a time where I have been thinking, praying and trying to determine what comes next for me in this life, having quit my job a couple of week's ago - with no back-up plan. When pushed for an answer - Love came out. It's as if it was hiding within me all along - just waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. I believe my purpose in this life is to love, wholeheartedly and unconditionally, because love is what the world needs most...and it is always the answer.
In a world filled with complexities, chaos, and uncertainty, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters. We often find ourselves chasing after success, material possessions, and validation. But when we strip away the layers of society's expectations and personal ambitions, what remains at the core of our existence is the fundamental need for love.
Love is not just a warm, fuzzy feeling. It's a force that has the power to transform lives, heal wounds, and bridge divides. Love is the universal language that transcends race, religion, and culture. It's the one thing that connects us all, regardless of our differences.
When we make love our life's purpose, we become beacons of light in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelmingly dark. Love compels us to reach out to those in need, to lend a helping hand, and to offer a shoulder to lean on. It encourages us to forgive, to empathize, and to be compassionate.
Loving others isn't always easy. It requires vulnerability, patience, and the willingness to put others' needs ahead of our own. But the beauty of love lies in its simplicity. It's not about grand gestures or extravagant displays. It's about the small acts of kindness, the genuine smiles, and the heartfelt conversations. It's about being present and truly listening to the people in our lives. Love doesn't cost a thing.
To love completely must not only extend to ourselves, it must start there. Love is about treating ourselves with the same kindness and understanding that we offer others. When we love ourselves, we become better equipped to love others authentically. Self-love is not selfish; it's a prerequisite for a fulfilling life.
I often tell people "I love the shit out of you!" a silly way of letting them know that I love them without reservation, without expecting anything in return. It means loving people even when they're difficult to love, even when they make mistakes, and even when they hurt us. It means choosing love over hate, understanding over judgment, and forgiveness over resentment.
Love doesn't discriminate. It reminds us that we are all human - imperfect and flawed, yet deserving of love and acceptance. Love is the answer, and it is what the world needs most.
So, if you are like me, sitting around wondering what you're supposed to be doing on this planet - don't overthink it. Maybe the answer has been right in front of you (or inside you) all along. You don't have to cure cancer. You don't have to become president. You don't have to be rich and famous. Try embracing the power of love as your purpose....watch as it transforms your life and the lives of those around you. Love is the answer.
Love is always the answer.
