Happy Birthday to Me!

I cannot believe it, even as I type it that I have turned 65 years old today. I can't help but chuckle at the very thought of it. The big 6-5! The age that makes me officially eligible for those Social Security payments and sends me down the path of signing up for Medicare. It's a milestone, to be sure, but one that I'm approaching with a mix of excitement and curiosity about what the future holds.
Now, I've been flying solo for quite some time, but that doesn't mean I'm ready to hang up my adventure-seeking hat just yet. In fact, I'm still on the hunt for my partner in crime, not to "grow old with" (because, let's face it, I've mastered that art on my own), but someone to grow with - to have fun and be absolutely, delightfully stupid with.
As I dive headfirst into this new chapter of my life, I can't help but picture myself and my potential partner in crime embarking on daring escapades that rival any action movie. Picture us attempting to salsa dance in our living room and collapsing in laughter as we trip over each other's feet. Or perhaps, we'll take spontaneous road trips to places we've never been, singing off-key to the radio and stopping at every roadside diner and giant ball of yarn we stumble upon.
Of course, I fully expect our adventures to come with their fair share of mishaps and misadventures. I am, well, after all...me. I can see us attempting to conquer some wild outdoor sport, only to end up tangled in equipment and covered in mud. White water rafting - forgetting that I never learned how to swim...and can we just say mechanical bull? I am on a mission to do that - knowing full well that a hospital stay will be involved!
But the beauty of it all is that age is just a number, and there's no expiration date on having a good time. Sure, our bodies might not be as spry as they once were, but that won't stop us from chasing after our dreams and embracing every moment of silliness that comes our way.
So, as I enter this new phase of life, I'm doing so with an open heart and a willingness to embrace the unknown. Whether I find that perfect partner in crime or continue to revel in the joy of solo adventures, one thing is for certain: I'm not going to let age define me or limit my capacity for fun.
As I blow out the candles on my 65th birthday cake, I'll be making a wish for new beginnings, unforgettable escapades, and the kind of laughter that can only come from being absolutely, delightfully stupid with someone special. Here's to growing older but never growing up! #HappyBirthdayToMe #PartnerInCrime #Adventure #NeverGrowingUp #GoHappyYourself
