Fall, Festivals and Friends

I had to take a moment to share the absolute joy of yesterday with you all. It's incredible how life can change in a year, and the people you meet can bring so much light into your world. A year ago, in one of my darkest times, the universe introduced me to an amazing group of people. They started as acquaintances, quickly became friends, and now, they're some of the most cherished individuals in my life.
Yesterday, we ventured out to Cox Farms in Virginia for a Fall Festival, and oh boy, what a blast it was! Our crew is spread across different corners of the tri-state area, some without cars, but here's the magic: we always look out for each other. No one gets left behind, and we ensure everyone has a safe ride there and back.
Our day began at a nearby diner for brunch, laughs, and some good old catching up. Then, off we went for the main event – the festival itself. It had it all: giant slides, mouthwatering apple cider donuts, cuddly animals for petting, and, of course, tons of photos to capture the memories. We even capped off the day with a hayride, which was just the cherry on top!
The evening took a spooktacular turn with the "Fields of Fear." Not everyone was up for it, so some headed home, and others joined us for the thrilling adventure. That's the beauty of our group – no pressure, just fun. The haunted experience included a corn maze, a haunted forest, and a spine-tingling hayride. Let's just say there was lots of screaming involved (mostly me!).
The weather played its part perfectly. After a warm week, it turned crisp and cool, even downright chilly at night. There was a giant bonfire at the festival, and as we huddled around it between the corn maze and the forest, I couldn't help but wonder: was it the fire warming me, or was it the warmth of these beautiful friendships? It's a toss-up, but I think I know which.
Memories were gathered by the dozen yesterday, and it's definitely one for the books. "Fall, Festivals, and Friends" – that's what it's all about.
I can't wait to see what we're up to next!
