Happy Friday...

You have to love Maya Angelou, don't you? She had a way of saying things that, even if she was insulting you - you thanked her 😀 - then I found this quote and it caught my attention because I just love anything book related and this drew an analogy about books and the relationships we have with people...

The quote I read is from Emile Zola and it goes like this:

"We are like books, most people just look at the cover.

Very few read the introduction.

Most people just believe the critics.

But a rare, precious few will take the time to actually

delve into our content.

Treasure those people."

It's true isn't it? Some people just look at us and judge us just by our appearance. Some people just get a glimpse of what we're about and it doesn't resonate and don't even try to get to know us. Some skim the pages...they meet you for five minutes and think they know everything about you and some others may have never met you, they just believe everything the naysayers have said. Those are not your people.

There are people out there who want to know you...all about you. They don't want the "Cliff Notes" version (did I just show my age there???) They don't just want to know that you don't like string beans...they want to know why. They want to know about things from your childhood and what your dreams and goals are. They care about those things because they care about you. Those are your people...

Go find them.
