Rearview Mirror

When you look in your rearview mirror, do you see me?
A ghost of moments shared, a love once wild and free,
Reflections of our laughter, like ripples on a stream,
Or has time swept us apart, like a fleeting, distant dream?
In that glass, a world behind, where memories reside,
Do you find my face among them, in the corners of your mind?
Our journey had its twists and turns, a road we used to roam,
But now, it seems, we've gone our ways, each finding a path of our own.
When you look in your rearview mirror, do you hear my voice?
Whispering in the wind, a haunting, gentle choice,
The words we used to share, like songs of love and grace,
Now fading with the miles, as we find our separate space.
Yet, the mirror cannot capture all that we've become,
The lessons learned, the growth, the battles fought and won,
Though we may travel separate roads, under different skies,
The connection that we shared will never truly die.
So when you look in your rearview mirror, just know,
A piece of me still lingers, wherever you may go,
In the echoes of our past, and the stories left untold,
In the love that once defined us, in memories, we'll hold.
When you look in your rearview mirror, do you see me?
A chapter in your life's story, a love that used to be,
Though life has carried us away, down different winding trails,
In that mirror's gaze, a part of us, forever prevails.
