"The moon is proof that we don't have to be complete in order to shine..."
I remember seeing that quote somewhere last year and it just stuck with me. It suggests that we don't have to be perfect, or have everything in order to make a positive impact or to radiate our own special light.
When we look at the moon, we see a celestial body that's not perfect and full all the time. It goes through phases, it waxes and wanes, and sometimes it's just a sliver. Yet, despite its imperfections and incompleteness, the moon still shines brightly in the night sky.
It's the same for us. So often we feel we have to be perfect in order to shine or to make a difference. We usually feel that we need to have all of our ducks in a row to be completely successful. To be seen as completely organized and flawless before we can even start to pursue our goals.
The beautiful moon reminds us that we don't have to be perfect in order to shine. We will never be perfect. Most of us never have everything figured out. But even when we are in our darkest periods, we still have the ability to shine our light for others. We can still contribute, inspire, and make a positive impact on the lives of those we touch.
I share my vulnerabilities, flaws, insecurities with you for two reasons. One, I am learning to accept all of those things in myself...that it's just part of the cycle of life and two, to show you that it's okay for you to do it too. We can embrace our imperfections instead of trying to hide them. We can be our true selves, and even in our "incompleteness" we still have the ability to shine brightly in this world...
Go shine your light...
