Growth Is Not Always Linear

Sometimes in life, you need to go backwards to move forward or upward. Like this beautiful spiral staircase in the picture or an arrow being pulled back from the bow before being projected at the target - sometimes, in order to advance or reach another level, it may be necessary to take a step back or revisit a previous stage of development.
On the spiral staircase, it may appear that you are moving away from the intended direction to reach the higher point...but personal growth so often involves revisiting past experiences, reflecting on the lessons learned, and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself before moving forward again.
Growth isn't always linear - it's a continuous journey that includes learning from the past, making improvements and gaining wisdom, so while it may appear that you're going backwards, the lessons learned actually move you forward/upward.
If you find yourself in a challenging situation or facing obstacles or blocks, it might be helpful to just take a step back, pause, reflect and reassess...once you've gained the strength, knowledge and understanding, you can resume your journey - don't dwell int he past, just take the experiences and lessons learned - ditch the rest and step up on that next step or release that arrow...
You've got this!
