Embracing Resourcefulness

Happy Monday - time to get back at it again...

Do you have any superpowers? I think one superpower that all successful professional possess is resourcefulness...it's one that I claim.

Here's the secret though - you don't need to know how to do everything. Instead, what it really comes down to is having the ability to figure out how to get it done - regardless of the challenges that come your way.

Resourcefulness is like having a Swiss Army knife in your toolkit. It's about being adaptable, creative and relentless in finding a solution. How do you use your resourcefulness? Here's a couple of ways that I use mine...

Embrace the unknown...It's okay not to have all the answers, instead, focus on being curious. Ask questions, think outside the box. I love the thrill of problem solving when I get to learn a new skill along the way.

Tap into your network...You are not alone - even when you think you are. I received so much incredible help from complete strangers on Facebook and LinkedIn. People generally want to help - they're just waiting for someone to help. Take note of those helpful people or groups...you may need to go back to them for other things. Always remember to return the favor - when you are able.

Be willing to learn...and keep doing it. Technology is ever changing - you've got to keep up with the trends or they will leave you behind. Learning new skills and expanding your knowledge helps equip you with tools needed to conquer any obstacles that land on your desk.

It's not about having all the answers...it's about knowing how to find them....so go out there and let your resourceful self shine!
